MMKay, so I"m a active member over at david-cook.org, and they have fan fictions over there, and there is not a section for fan fictions here, so I decided to just post it here. If you want to read it, I gladly accept all comments and criticism. Hope you enjoy!

Chapter 1

It was a dark stormy day of the auditions.

I looked outside at the mess of weather that we were having today. It figured that it would rain on my big day. Every time it rains, something bad happens to me. I had a good enough feeling that some bad stuff was coming my way.

I looked at the doors. A lot of people were going through to the next round. This definitely meant that I wasn’t going to make it.

I decided to do a little crowd observing. We definitely had some interesting people auditioning today. As I looked around I saw a guy that was gothic, a girl that was way too preppy, and an Australian guy. Australian guys always intrigued me. I had no idea what it was about them. It could be the accent. Or maybe it was the way that they carried themselves. I’m really not sure what it was. I watched the Australian guy from across the room. He was practicing a soulful song. When he wasn’t practicing, he was telling some small tale or cracking a joke. He seemed very personable, and he just had this air about him. I wanted desperately to go talk to him, but my nerves were getting the best of me again. Plus he was about to go into the audition room. Ryan got my attention.

“May I have numbers 2345 and 2346 up here please?”

I make my way up to the audition room. He also follows me. I look at my number. I was 2345, and he was 2346. We were standing next to each other. I opened my mouth to start up a conversation, but instead he was on the one to start.

“Hey, how it’s going?”

“Oh, I’m good how about you.”

“I’m great. Nice weather we’re having today, huh?”

He cracked a smile and started laughing and I did the same. Oh gosh, not only was he extremely funny, but he was very good looking too. He was a lot different the most of the other guys I have dated in the past. Oh well, there’s a first time for everything. Wait a second, I’m already considering dating this guy who I’ve known for like a matter of 5 minutes? I swear there is something mentally wrong with me sometimes……

“Yes, great weather today. Haha. So what’s your name?”

“My name is Michael.”

“Oh, hey Michael! So are you excited for auditions today?”

“Yes, I finally get a chance to live out my dream. How about you?”

“I’m a little nervous. I’ve never really done anything as life changing as this.”
“Oh, I’m sure you’ll do great!”

Our conversation was going great, until stupid Ryan Seacrest had to come over and interrupt it all. He came over and tapped me on the back.

“You’re up to audition now.”

“Oh, ok. It was nice meeting you Michael. Maybe we’ll get to talk again sometime.”

“Yea, that would be nice. Wait, do I get to know your name?”

“Oh yeah. Pardon my bad manners. I’m Katie.”

“Good look Katie.”

“Thanks Michael.”

I headed into the audition room. My heart was about to beat out of my chest. I was as nervous as I could have possibly been. The judges gave me their complete attention.

“Hey Katie, how you doing today dog?”

“I’m good Randy. How about you?”

“I’m just nervous. This is very important to me.”

“It’s ok, everyone gets like that. So what will you be singing for us today.”

“I’m going to be singing A Thousand Miles by Vanessa Carlton.”

“Ok, Katie. Whenever you’re ready.”

I took a deep breath and started to sing the song. I relaxed and sang the song just how it was supposed to be done. I was actually surprised at myself.

“Alright thank you! So Randy, yes or no?”

“I say yes.You have a powerful and rich tone to your voice. I like it.”

“Definitely yes! You have a beautiful voice!”

“Alright, Katie, there’s 2 yeses and I say yes, so you’re going to Hollywood.”

“Thank you guys so much!”

I left the room with a yellow ticket in my hand. My new Aussie friend came over to me.

“So, how’d you do Katie?”

“I got in!”

“Alright! Nice job!”

He high fived me. I was sort of hoping for a hug from my new hot Australian friend, but I was happy enough with a high five. He smiled at me, then Ryan came over to us.

“Michael Johns, you’re up next!”

“Good luck Michael!”

“Thanks Katie.”

He went into the audition room. Ryan came over and decided to interview me.

“So how did your audition go?”

“It went well. I got praises from all the judges. I shall be going to Hollywood.”

I held up my yellow ticket for everyone to see. As I was doing that, Michael came out of the audition room. He looked really bummed, but then held up his yellow ticket and screamed.

“WOO! I MADE IT!”

I tried to make my way over to him. Maybe I should be the one to give him a hug. I was approaching him when out of no where, this blonde comes up to him and he lifts her up and spins her around and gives her a big kiss. I was standing there observing all of this. I’m guessing it was his wife or girlfriend. Oh crap, he was taken. Oh well. Doesn’t mean we can’t still be friends right? I went over to him and tapped him on the shoulder.

“Good job Michael!”

“Awe thank you Katie.” He gave me a quick pat on the back. “Well I have to be going. I’ll see you in Hollywood. Ok?”

“Alright see you later Michael.”

We both left the building. Little did I know of what sort of events would happen this season.
