I am so shocked and mad. I can NOT believe Michael Johns, one of the greatest idols to walk the stage on american idol is sent home. To be frank, theres no one to blame but us, the fans who let him down. I am so upset that the show doesnt allow callers from Canada, where i am from but its too late to turn back time. I was so glad to see michael maintain his poised posture when he heard the news and was still able to deliever such a brilliant performance. I thought today's performance, as he sang his way out of the competition was better then tuesdays because you can hear more of the emotions, the anger and sorrow. It was such a coincidence how the song he sang represented so much about what must have been running through his mind at the time, knowing it is his last performance as an american idol contestant on season 7. I, for one, no that this is not the last time we'll hear from Michael Johns. He WILL get signed to a record label and he WILL produce a fantastic record. And when the time is right, he WILL have a concert (esp in canada) and i'll be standing in the front row, watching the wonderful star, seeing what he has become since the show. But i know if that is to ever happen, it'll be a while.. probably after the american idol tour. The good news is he will be participating in it, so you lucky americans get an oppurtunity to see him live. BUT if big time record labels fail to sign him... i hope with all my heart that he would return and give american idol another try, cuz we all know he's got what it takes to be a rockstar!
Closing this up, just want to remind all you fans out there that this is NOT the end of michael johns. and as his favourite quote goes, "its better to be a has been then a never was."

i'm devastated as well ... but i don't believe for ONE second that it was America that sent Michael home, i fully believe it was the producers of the show. Michael's talent is FAR superior to almost everyone that is left on the show.

I agree. Michael has a huge fan base so i think that the producers of AI meddled with the number of votes. OMG. I can't believe that THE REAL IDOL was sent home. I just wish that he'll have a successsful career 'cause we all know that he will be BIGGER AND BETTER than the others!

I'm new here and I hate that my first post will be about such a sad thing. 
Michael was my favorite American Idol out of any idol there has ever been. In fact, I was never a huge idol fan until this season because of him. He obviously should not have gone home. I think he should have won the whole thing but putting aside that he is my favorite, I still believe he should have at least been top 3. I'm very upset and I don't plan on watching American Idol any more. I will, however, be looking for Michael's cd to come out. I'm sure he will have no problem getting one out with his amazing voice (not to mention his stunning looks!

So sorry, but please DO NOT blame the fans. He DID NOT receive the least amount of votes. In fact, he was not supposed to even been in the bottom 3. He got more votes than David C.! He was sent packing. His fans voted very hard for him!!! I was one of them for two hours straight. He should be brought back with a WILD CARD or something. The producers got this one wrong & will be losing a LOT OF VIEWERS!!!

and they're releasing probably one of the greatest performers ever
but theres no evidence that shows that this show is rigged
i think many fans thought that michael would be safe for sure..
therefore they didnt think they needed to vote
but one by one those voters add up
