Full Version: David Archuleta?
IS he really going to go far if he wins? Yah i agree he is really good especially for his age but hes sort of boring and seems a little old fasioned. and kinda off topic but have you evr realized how he sticked his tounge out constantly when he sings. its sorta funny. and do u think its fair he won star search and is on this? i dont personally care but anyway, tell me how you feel.
I like him, but he's slowly fading from my favorites. I think he's starting to get boring. Plus, his fans can be really nuts at times! Don't get me wrong, they're nice but sometimes they're a bit too crazy for me.

David A.'s voice is good but not the very good vocals as David C. or Michael, the only thing why David A. seemed very good and has perfect vocals coz he is very smart through choosing perfect songs that can hide his weakness which is his vocals. For example, Brooke White seemed very good and her vocals outlasted Carly Smithson. But she really isn't, she just pick perfect songs ( perfect songs hide your weakness) and Carly has better vocals but her song was not that better so she showed her weakness which is choosing songs.

I totally agree. Thats why hes getting so many votes. Everyone who votes like crazy for american idol are the obsessive fans like probably teenagers(me but im not like tht) who probably like david archuleta cuz hes young. lets see what he sings tonight tho that will support my opinion or change it.
David is good,but I don't see him winning this competition! He is too predictable,and that fades fast.

Well, my cousin who is 24 loves and is crazy 
about David A. IN the other hand, Me, the teen, is supporting for a mature one.. but sings so incredible!!!!
I hope he doesnt win i mean dial idol said he was by far the most voted for last night even tho he forgot the words. I dont trust dial idol completely but thet many more votes i do. Last night kinda proves everyone isnt voting for him for his singing and talet
David A. isn't my fave either, I think he's good, but he's not great. I don't think that he'll make it to far if he wins this whole thing. Young people like David usually go through the stages of stardom and then thats it. Don't get me wrong, I wish the best for the kid. I think he's cute, and loveable, but I don't know how far it'll get him. I think his fan base is strong and obsessive enough to get him far enough, but I'm not sure how far. I'm not comparing him to Sanjaya (David can actually sing well) but Sanjaya had that obsessive crazy fan base that tried to support him as best as they could but he didn't make it all the way, it could be the same with David.

YES! I have noticed that. My friend and I counted all the times we could see him do it last week and it was like 15 times during the song. I dunno what it is, maybe his lips are dry? Or maybe it's just a nervous habit?

i dunno i think David is overrated. i mean he's a decent singer, but it's not like the best singer i've ever heard.i have a hard time understanding what he says in the songs too sometimes, he doesn't articulate.
he still has a crapload of fans though.

My opinions on him?
He is a good singer, but not the best vocalist in the competition - that honor goes to Carly, Michael, and Ramiele. He may be endearing to watch on television, but take it away and any magic he has is gone when you listen to his music. I think he also lacks stage presence and poise.
I think he could sell well initially given all the AI hype surrounding him regardless of the genre and quality of music he will make. I don't see him having much longevity in the industry, however unless he has a clear vision of who he is as an artist and can write his own music (well). Unless he will take (or be pushed into) the Josh Groban route.

I couldn't agree more.While I realize it's a singing competition,visual is so important too.He is definitely lacking stage presence.I think both are needed to win this competition !
