Full Version: I WENT TO A DAUGHTRY/BON JOVI CONCERT

Before we arrived at the arena the first thing I spotted were the tour busses!! There were like nine of them which meant I had to figure out which one was DAUGHTRY'S! I think I found the right one. There were 2 brown ones and I THINK our guys have a brown one right?! LOL We arrived at the arena at 5:00 which meant standing in the cold until 6:30! While waiting, I took a picture of the tour bus that I thought was DAUGHTRY's. A local radio station was setting up and they talked to my friend and I and we were supposed to be on air at 11:00. We missed us but I bet we were on. We showed her our signs. My friends signs said "I'LL BE THERE FOR YOU" and the other said "I LOVE YOU BON JOVI" and then she went in to talking about how "I'll Be There For You" is her favorite song. I also showed her my signs and she loved my "MARRY ME CHRIS" sign. While freezing our butts off my friend saw a bunch of hot guys who she wanted to meet. So, that was interesting while waiting in line and kept us occupied. So anyway to the GOOD STUFF! We bought our shirts when we entered the Arena and then we went and found our seats. When we got there I was surprised by how good we could see.. I thought it would be worse. Wasn't the best but for a first concert they were good! FINALLY DAUGHTRY took the stage. The first song they sang was "You Don't Belong" and then the rest of the songs I don't remember. When "Breakdown" was playing tears started pouring down my face. I was happy to be there but pissed off 'cause barely anyone was standing in our section. There may have been a few standing here and there but EVERYONE was standing that had floor seating. While DAUGHTRY was performing we screamed, sang along, twice I yelled "I LOVE YOU CHRIS!!!!" But I don't think he heard. While screaming and acting like we were at a concert (UNLIKE OTHERS!) these people in front of us kept turning around and giving us looks. WTH?! Do they want us to sit down, don't say a word, and not have fun. HAHA Forget that! There's no way my first concert will turn out like that! Our guys were amazing. My mom left our section to get pictures that would turn out better since my camera is a piece of junk. We got like 50 some pictures of DAUGHTRY. They performed for about 50-60 mins. and they were off. We waited for Bon Jovi to come on and they were amazing. Some lady got to slow dance with him and another made out with him. And my friend was bawling. (She wishes it was her!) I'm wondering how his wife can trust him when he's doing stuff like that! But he is still amazing.. We tried to go outside and meet them afterwards and that wasn't happening! They had security and police by the tour busses so we couldn't go there and my mom had to work the following day so that was out of the question. On the way home when we left I bawled for atleast 45 minutes straight. Then, quit crying...then "HOME" came on the radio and the tears started rolling! I understand the not meeting them part, it was my first concert so I was glad I went and my mom had to work the next day so it made sense. I just hope that next concert I go to DAUGHTRY is THE ACT not the opening act. The only thing bad about the concert was I honestly don't think Chris and the guys got the respect they deserve. Like I said, there were some people standing and then all the floor people were standing but when Bon Jovi was performing basically EVERYONE stood. I guess that was what being an opening act gets you. Overall the concert was great! Amazing. Not one word can describe it. I can't wait for next time. I just don't know how I will be able to listen to DAUGHTRY without crying now. As time goes by I think I will be able to handle it but right now it's so hard. Most of the tears I cried were tears of happiness! OH I ALMOST FORGOT! THERE WAS NO DAUGHTRY/JOVI PERFORMANCE TOGETHER!!!!! sad.gif I was upset!! sad.gif

Forgot to say that when we were waiting at 5:00 to get into the arena we were standing close to the tour busses and I yelled "I LOVE YOU CHRIS!" In hopes he would come out...no, no one did... They were most likely in the arena already though.

Something I forgot to add:

During DAUGHTRY'S performance Chris told them to turn the lights off and everyone get their cameras out and counted to 3 and flash your camera. It was awesome. Chris was energetic and parts of the concert are coming back so I may keep editing this post.

If you could see my face it would be one of total jealousy. Daughtry is my love interest. wub.gif I absolutely love that man, and Bon Jovi is like the classic rock star and he rocks my world. God I wish I could go soooooooo bad!

i think the Daughtry/Bon Jovi concert is here in Greensboro this weekend.

meh, lol, Daughtry lives like 10 minutes away from me, so i don't really care to see him open for Bon Jovi. ... i'm sure it'll be a decent show though.

I'd die to live that close to him! You can't tell me you're not a fan?!
Keish72582
lol, actually i'm not really a fan.

he has good music, but as a person there's little to be desired.
MusicIsLifeXx86
What do you mean by "as a person there's little to be desired"?
Keish72582
that he's rude/arrogant.

like i've heard from so many of his fans that at concerts and stuff afterwards if they meet him he's super nice and whatnot. but the times i've met him around here he hasn't been so nice, and i know alot of the people around here that have seen him say the same things.
MusicIsLifeXx86
Oh, if you say so. That's most likely because when he's back at home he wants to be with his family that he seldomly sees since he is always on tour. He has a personal life as well. He's still a human. He has his bad days. He's not perfect.

Whoa... a down fan! ohmy.gif Cheer up, there's always a good side....and a bad side.... but Cheer up! smile.gif I'm not really a fan too.. but I like him... as I like everyone!

Who are you directing that at?

Music, you sure picked a good concert for your first concert! Just curious...why did it make you cry?

(reminds me of the AI "crying girl") smile.gif

I've seen Taylor Hicks in concert and remember being very pumped afterwards...like being in a Taylor bubble, lol. That lasted for at least a day or two! Maybe that's how you feel--like you are in a Daughtry bubble.

You have a cool mom to take you to the concert! And getting to see Bon Jovi--I don't think I have appreciated what a good concert he would put on until he was on AI.

Enjoy your Daughtry cd today! It will bring back memories of the concert. smile.gif

I cried because I was happy to be there. There was a time in life where I never thought I'd be able to expirience a DAUGHTRY concert. It took them a whole year to come back to Pittsburgh and it seems like it took them a lifetime to come back! I also cried because of other things that would be pathetic. Let's just say that the people in my section weren't very supportive of the band and my mom told me to sit down so others can see. Sitting down didn't last long because I said if these people really want to see they will stand!
And it was completely different than the "AI Crying Girl" I didn't cry like that. It was just tears nothing over exaggerated and dramatic. I didn't make myself look like an idiot.

TODAY IS ONE MONTH SINCE THE CONCERT! SO HARD TO BELIEVE. IT SEEMS LIKE IT'S BEEN SOOO MUCH LONGER! I NEED TO GO TO ANOTHER CONCERT!

Hi Music,

Glad to know you were so happy! I don't think crying girl is an idiot, either, just really emotional. I read that this year she's picked Jason.

As for the people not standing up at the concert, I know what you mean. However, as people get older they get tired of standing through two whole concerts! Maybe they were conserving their Baby Boomer? energy for Bon Jovi. smile.gif

We went the the Greensboro show. My seat was on the floor but my daughter who is a huge Daughtry fan, was in the nosebleed. She was sooo mad because nobody else around her stood up for Daughtry.

Same here. Wow. That's surprising since that's basically where he lives! ohmy.gif ohmy.gif

Hey Musicislife,

I enjoyed reading your Daughtry/Bon Jovi review, sounds like so much fun, in fact I'm jealous! Today Bon Jovi and Daughtry are doing a concert and I can't be there! I'm so sad, the reason is that I couldn't afford the tix and then tried to win tix but had no luck so now I'll probably never get to see Bon Jovi in concert. I did see Daughtry in concert when they first went on tour last year, Feb. They were the main act with 2 openers and it was in a small venue and it was so awesome! I was front row and I met Chris, got pics and hugs from him and met the other guys in the band, it was a night I'll never forget. Sorry, I don't mean to rub it in, I guess I got a little excited to share my experience. Chris is a really nice guy and so are the other guys in the band. I can see where Chris might come off as not friendly but who is every single time that you see them? Maybe some people caught him in a bad mood, you never know but for the most part he is a really great guy who is trying his best to adjust to this new world of fame. Just my opinion.
